Welcome to Live.Laugh.Love. Dream BIG. My name is Karyn formerly of Karyn.nu, hello-karyn.org and mama-uncensored.com
I am 30 years old in the year 2015. I’m engaged to the love of my life DJ and together we have two boys JM and JA. We also have two dogs, Tiny and Daisy and because of the children’s ages no cats.
I was born and raised in a small town in NEPA. I was raised in the LDS church. I was raised by both parents and lived with my half brother and little sister. My parents divorced when I was 19 and my father remarried and divorced since. I gained and lost two step siblings in this process which I don’t really care for.
I evolved in religious beliefs and have settled into Kitchen Witchcraft and Eclectic Paganism. I just go with it really.
You’re so tiny!
Yup. I know. Losing a 185 lbs will do that to a person. In May 2012 I under went RNY gastric bypass and began my weight loss journey. July 14 2015 I underwent the first of 8 emergency life saving surgeries due to a very rare complication from this surgery. I haven’t been the same since, and tend to write to process the feelings I am going through now.
Blogging. A History.
I started out as most do, with livejournal.com and began to love everything about writing, blogging and being apart of a community. My first blog was undefined-beauty.org. I knew nothing about domains and domain renewals and ended up missing the renewal date.
I bought from several other bloggers Rancid-Petals.Net and cada-momento.com and because they were associated with other writers I let them go so I could forge my own path.
I settled with hello-karyn.org so I could really make a name for myself and create my voice. I had this for several years before I decided that there were a lot more bad memories associated with the name sake than good, and I had grown out of it in more ways than one so I bought karyn.nu.
And again knowing very little about the .NU extention I was told that if I came up with X amount of money by X date I’d get it back, when I called back (eff you Godaddy) it was too late someone else had bought it and was asking a lot of money for the domain I’d built up for two years.
My final blog was mama-uncensored.com a name that I didn’t think through and ended up hating. I also missed several months of blogging due to emergency surgery, family problems etc. I decided for the time being that it would be better for me to have a free blog than to worry about domains and such. Content is what has become my focal point, to build my brand and my name sake (GeekyMamaPlans) in the blogging community and really sticking with it.
